The abbreviation FSC^® stands for the "Forest Stewardship Council Arbeitsgruppe Deutschland eV" which, since its foundation in 1993, has been working in a wide variety of ways for responsible forest management. To this end the FSC^® has set up international guidelines with ten principles and criteria which make it possible to achieve forest management which is environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable. Forest managers and their customer companies from the timber trade can make their contribution to urgent environmental protection by participating in the voluntary certification scheme. "Environmental pollution and the overexploitation of natural resources is endangering our ecological balance. Counteracting this danger is a great challenge which we are keen to take up," says Guido Schulte, managing director of MeisterWerke. The FSC^® label is the mark of the Forest Stewardship Council.
